visiting Sanje Falls is a truly magnificent experience. You will never forget standing at the base of a 180m waterfall or jumping through one of the smaller (30m or so!) falls into a plunge pool for a swim. The hike can be done in half a day but we suggest you get the most out of your time in Udzungwa and hike up in the morning, have lunch and then come down. For the dedicated forest lovers it is possible to camp at the top of the waterfall and get up in time to watch the spectacular sunrise over the Kilombero Valley whilst you are sitting on the rocks in the middle of the plunge pools.
